Flamy App
All about the Flamy app
Account, purchases, sync - everything you need for daily use.
How much does Flamy cost?
The core version of Flamy is completely free and ad-free. For premium features (advanced statistics, all challenges, additional motivation content) there is an optional subscription. Current pricing is shown transparently in the app under 'Premium' - it can vary by country and current promotion.
Is there a free version?
Yes. All core features - the smoke-free tracker, the SOS button for cravings, the savings calculator and the health milestones - are free forever. Premium is optional and unlocks additional content. You don't need a credit card to start.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Subscriptions are managed directly by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) - we can't cancel them from our end for legal reasons.
On iPhone/iPad: Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, then 'Subscriptions', choose 'Flamy' and tap 'Cancel subscription'.
On Android: Open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture at the top right, then 'Payments and subscriptions', then 'Subscriptions', choose 'Flamy' and tap 'Cancel subscription'.
Your Premium stays active until the end of your paid period. After that, you automatically continue with the free version.
How do I permanently delete my Flamy account?
You can delete your account including all personal data at any time. In the app: open Settings, then Account, then 'Delete account'. You can also trigger the deletion via our website: flamy.co/data-deletion.
Important: If you have an active Premium subscription, please cancel it separately via the App Store or Google Play. Deleting the account does not automatically cancel the subscription because it is managed by the store.
My Premium purchase is gone - how do I restore it?
This can happen after a fresh install or device switch. To restore:
iOS: Open Flamy, go to Settings and tap 'Restore purchases'. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you originally bought with.
Android: Open Flamy, go to Settings and tap 'Restore purchases'. You need to be signed in with the same Google account.
Still not working? Email us at support@flamy.co and include the email address of your App Store or Google account - we usually reply within 24 hours.
What devices does Flamy support?
Flamy is available as a native app for iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 and up) and for Android phones and tablets (Android 8.0 and up). There is currently no web version - the app is intentionally built so that all important features work offline.
Can I use Flamy on multiple devices?
Yes. As long as you sign in on all devices with the same email (or via 'Sign in with Apple' / 'Sign in with Google'), your smoke-free time, statistics and trophies sync automatically. You can use iPhone and iPad together or switch from Android to iPhone without losing progress.
Does Flamy work offline?
Yes. Flamy is built 'offline first' - all core features like tracker, SOS button, breathing exercises and statistics work completely without internet. Once you're back online, data syncs automatically in the background. Perfect for holidays, train rides or no-signal zones.
How do I reset my quit date?
If you want to correct your start date or had a relapse: open Settings, then Quit date, then 'Edit'. Your previous history stays in the app, but you start a fresh streak. Relapses are normal, by the way - 70 percent of successful ex-smokers had at least one. The key is to continue immediately.
What happens to my data? Is Flamy secure?
Flamy only stores data needed to run the app (email, quit date, statistics, optional profile info). We don't sell data and we don't show third-party ads. Processing is GDPR-compliant; some providers (e.g. Google/Firebase) also process data outside the EU, safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You will find all details in our privacy policy at flamy.co/privacy.
How do I contact support?
Just email support@flamy.co. We usually reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday. For issues with purchases or your account, please include the email address you use in the app - it speeds things up significantly.
Quitting smoking
Questions about quitting smoking
The most common questions on withdrawal, cravings, relapses - science-backed and practical.
How long does physical nicotine withdrawal last?
Acute physical withdrawal usually lasts 3 to 14 days, peaking between day 2 and 4. After a few days, most nicotine has been cleared. Psychological cravings in specific situations can persist for several months, but usually become weaker and less frequent over time. Find the full timeline in our nicotine withdrawal guide.
What helps cravings fast?
Three instant moves that almost always work: First, drink a big glass of water. Second, try the 4-7-8 breathing technique - breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale for 8, three rounds is enough. Third, step outside, ideally for a 10-minute walk.
Every craving fades on its own, usually in 3 to 10 minutes. Flamy's SOS button walks you through exactly these steps - so you don't have to think in the heat of the moment.
Will I gain weight when I quit?
On average, ex-smokers gain 4 to 5 kg (9-11 lbs) in the first year. Partly because metabolism changes, partly through unconscious substitute snacking. With mindful eating (more protein and vegetables instead of sweets) and 30 minutes of daily movement, you can often limit it.
And even if a few kilos stick around: the health benefits of quitting outweigh any weight gain by far - your cardiovascular risk keeps falling with every smoke-free month.
Are vapes or e-cigarettes a good alternative?
Medically speaking, no. E-cigarettes still contain nicotine and in many cases additional substances harmful to the airways. They keep you addicted and are not recommended as a quitting method in the German S3 tobacco cessation guideline.
If you want to taper nicotine gradually, classic nicotine replacement (patches, gum, lozenges) is better researched, dose-controllable and leads to actual cessation rather than just switching delivery methods.
Should I taper down or quit cold turkey?
Many people do better with a clear quit day than with a long taper because the decision is simpler. With tapering, temptation stays constantly present - every single cigarette has to be re-negotiated.
Quitting outright is more uncomfortable in the first days, but the plan is clear. With a concrete plan and tools like the Flamy app, a hard stop is doable - even for heavy smokers.
Are nicotine patches or gum worth using?
Yes, for many smokers they're a real help. They reduce physical withdrawal symptoms and can significantly increase the chances of quitting successfully, according to Cochrane reviews. Important to know: they mainly treat the physical side of addiction. The psychological habit (the hand reaching for a cigarette) only dissolves through new routines.
An app like Flamy can support those routines in everyday life - as an addition to nicotine replacement, counselling or medical guidance.
How do I handle a relapse?
A slip is not failure, it's part of learning. Around 70 percent of successful ex-smokers had at least one relapse before quitting permanently.
Three key steps: Don't catastrophize - one cigarette is not a three-day relapse. Analyze the trigger (stress, alcohol, a specific person?) and plan an alternative for exactly that situation. Continue your quit attempt immediately, not 'starting tomorrow' or 'after the weekend'.
In Flamy you can reset your streak without losing your entire history - so the learning stays with you.
How do I handle stress without a cigarette?
An important truth first: nicotine doesn't reduce stress - it causes it. What feels like calming is really just the disappearance of nicotine withdrawal between two cigarettes. Once you're completely smoke-free (after about 2 weeks), you'll be measurably calmer in stressful situations than when you smoked.
Until then, breathing exercises (4-7-8), 10 minutes of movement, a glass of water instead of a cigarette and short breaks with something for your hands - a pen, a stress ball, a cold glass of water - all help.
When am I officially a non-smoker?
There is no official threshold. For your own self-image, something else matters: describe yourself as a non-smoker from day one ('I don't smoke' instead of 'I'm trying to quit'). This small linguistic shift strengthens your new identity and can help prevent relapse.
How do I tell others I've quit?
Clear and without apology - that works best. 'No thanks, I don't smoke anymore' or 'I'm a non-smoker'. Avoid phrasing like 'I'm trying to quit' because it weakens your position and invites debate.
Most people react neutrally or positively. If someone pushes: 'It's good for me right now, thanks' is plenty. For the first 2 to 3 weeks you can avoid situations where everyone smokes - after that it won't be an issue anymore.
